Varnika

2100 Sq.ft, Residential House in Pondicherry

“Layers of red clay, Trellis holds the light within, Warmth finds its shelter”

Designed for a secluded nuclear family with a passion for metal facades, this 3 BHK home spanning three floors underwent a complete facade transformation. Instead of a flat surface, we introduced void pockets on the facade, creating dynamic projections that were thoughtfully colour-blocked to stand out.

The warmth of terracotta clay textures complements the modernity of the aluminium trellis, which acts as a screen, providing partial sunlight and privacy. A Jali roof on the second-floor terrace adds depth to the design, creating playful shadow patterns throughout the day.

A balance of textures, voids, and shadows gives this residence its unique identity – a true embodiment of "Varnika."

Option 2

Brick & Bloom

2100 Sq.ft, Residential House in Pondicherry

“Metal shields, light flows,
bricks bloom with warmth and soft air,
privacy in light.”

In the heart of a dense neighbourhood, Brick and Bloom is a family home designed to blend privacy with light and openness. To address the close proximity of neighboring houses, a unique metal façade with concrete bricks acts as a semi-transparent screen, allowing sunlight to filter in while maintaining privacy. Skylights and glass bricks further brighten the interior, while balconies and bay windows offer cozy spaces to enjoy the outdoors. This thoughtful design creates a sanctuary filled with warmth, light, and a touch of nature.
